A Pacific Northwest company, Golazo’s USDA Organic Certified sports drinks and energy drinks are made with no artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners or preservatives. Golazo Energy delivers organic fuel from green coffee beans and yerba mate, hydrating electrolytes and half the sugar of most energy drinks. Golazo Hydration provides electrolytes from 10 percent organic coconut water for replenishment, half the sodium of most sports drinks and a thirst-quenching formula.
“I feel great about it. I love the fact that Golazo is a Northwest company and the people at Golazo made me feel like home when I visited their headquarters,” said Mark Burton. “I drink energy and sport drinks before, during and after each game and its great to have Golazo as it tastes better and is an all-natural drink.”
The partnership will showcase not only Golazo, but help Davis and Burton spread ultimate in the region and fuel their on-field play.
“We formulate our products for increased sports performance including mental acuity, sustained endurance, sprinting speed and fast recovery,” said Richard Tait, Golazo co-founder and CEO. “All of these characteristics are key for athletes like Mark and Topher, and show that top performance can be achieved with fuel from organic ingredients.”
For Davis, this partnership will help showcase the sport of ultimate to a much larger market.
“I want it to be clear that my main goal isn’t to promote myself or my own accomplishments, but to be a promoter of the entire sport of ultimate,” said Davis. “If Golazo can get me a few non-ultimate fans that convert, and I can get those fans to be aware of an exciting upset, a clinic being put on in their area or great ultimate-driven movements like Ultimate Peace or G.U.M., then I will feel like this has been a successful venture.”
Burton and Davis will join an exciting group of Team Golazo athletes including DeAndre Yedlin, Lamar Neagle, Kaylyn Kyle, Jess Fishlock, Will Johnson and the legendary Pele.
“I am really looking forward to working with Golazo,” added Burton. “They are deeply interested in jumping into the ultimate scene and I am happy that I get to be a part of the partnership with them.”
Both Burton and Davis will be promoting Golazo on Twitter by showcasing what it takes to compete at the highest level in ultimate. They want to share with fans what it takes to be successful at the sport, from weight training and practices to throwing sessions and game travel.
Be sure to watch for highlights from both Davis and Burton as the season continues. The two may face off in the Western Conference Finals this July.
