USA Ultimate announced the rosters for the teams that will represent Team USA at the 2017 World Championships of Beach Ultimate in Royan, France. The games will take place on June 18-24, 2017 featuring 105 players from 7 divisions of play.

In the Men’s division, a handful of Boston Whitecaps were selected to represent the United States. Jack Hatchett, Jared Inselmann, Jay Clark, and Tyler Chan all made the team on the heels of an Eastern Conference Finals appearance with the Whitecaps and a Club Nationals Championship with Ironside.

The Philadelphia Spinners’ Trey Katzenbach, coming off of his first MLU Championship, is captaining the Mixed Masters team. Joining him on the roster is Owen Westbrook, who made a brief appearance for the Boston Whitecaps in 2016. Former Spinner and Rumble player Sean Murray will also compete with Katzenbach and Westbrook on the Mixed Masters team.

Sandy Hartwiger of the Boston Whitecaps will play for the Men’s Masters team with former MLU creative director Skip Sewell.

Seattle Rainmakers coach Kate Kingery will captain the Women’s Masters team while former D.C Current head coach and current player Keven Moldenhauer made the Grandmasters roster.

WCBU 2017 serves as a qualifying event for the 2019 Association of National Olympic Committees’ World Beach Games. These games will be a true test for ultimate’s olympic hopes down the road.
