Executive VP and Founder
Nic Darling has extensive experience in building businesses from the ground up. He has developed a specialty in positioning and promoting fledgling brands through over nine years of startup work and consulting. His most recent company, prior to the MLU, is Postgreen Homes, an urban, green, real estate development company in Philadelphia that has garnered extensive national recognition for its innovative approach to building and marketing and that continues to add projects to its impressive portfolio. Nic is a graduate of Syracuse University, and in addition to ultimate, has worked extensively in commercial real estate, software and residential development.
CFO and Founder
Lindi Sabloff is a seasoned investment banker with a focus on mergers & acquisitions, capital raising and strategic advisory. She primarily advises closely-held corporations across a wide spectrum of industries. In addition to being the Chief Financial Officer of the MLU, Lindi is a partner at Unison Capital FZE. Prior to joining UNISON, she led the Middle Market transaction group at Hidden River Capital as partner. Prior to that, she was a vice president with Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., the oldest and largest privately owned bank in the United States. Lindi holds a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
Vice President of Operations and Founder
David Kucherlapati brings a long history of building sports programs from scratch to his position as Vice President of Operations. As General Manager of the Boston Whitecaps, he developed a strong fan base and established an elite team that marched its way to the 2013 MLU Championship and an undefeated record. David is the backbone of the MLU’s network of in-market staff; he works closely with each market to set goals, grow participation, and achieve budgets. David holds a B.A. in History and Politics & Government from the University of Hartford.
Director of Video Production
Matt Gray has worked in film and television production for over 20 years as producer, director and director of photography. He is the co-founder of startup film production company Blue Plate Production, NYC and is instrumental in transforming the firm into a leading sports promotional producer contracted with NBA, MLB and PBS. His projects have been televised on national media outlets including NBC, ESPN, The Learning Channel, Discovery and PBS, and he has also worked on the World Series and NBA Championships. He has received an Emmy and Parent Choice award, and has produced official selections at the Connecticut Film Festival, Utopian Film Festival and the Reel to Reel Film Festival. At the MLU, Matt leads the production team in creating the highest-quality highlights and game footage that have been featured on ESPN, Comcast and Cox Sports.
Digital Content Manager
Tom Levy is a born and bred native of Philadelphia, raised with a passion for his hometown and the rich, albeit infamous sports culture. After graduating from The George Washington University in 2009 with a B.A. in History, Tom worked in many fields. Most recently before MLU, Tom taught American History and coached several sports in Philadelphia. Tom joined the MLU in September of 2013.
Scott Helm is a newbie to the ultimate community, joining the MLU after being inspired by the drive and determination of two guys crazy enough to start their own ultimate league. Scott works closely with Matt Gray and Greg Fallon to design and maintain the MLU Lives setup. He’s also been known to take on any task thrown at him, such as updating the MLU website and designing logos for the MLU Pro Gear Program.
Partnership Development Associate
Billy Sickles has been extensively involved in the ultimate community since being introduced to the sport in 2010 at Westfield High School in his native New Jersey. In addition to his role in Partnership Development with MLU, Billy is an offensive cutter for the Philadelphia Spinners, coaches St. Joseph's University's DirtyBirds, and is an active participant in the local PADA community. Billy graduated in the spring of 2014 from St. Joseph's University with a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Spanish, and was a 3-time captain for the DirtyBirds.
Partnership Account Coordinator
Kelsey Turner is a native of Philadelphia, who moved back to the city after completing her B.A. from Goucher College in Spanish and Communications & Media Studies. A varsity tennis player for Goucher, Kelsey played most of her college ultimate while she was studying abroad in Cordoba, Argentina for six months. After completing a sales internship with Major League Ultimate in January 2015, Kelsey’s desires to work in the sports world and to increase the spread of ultimate strengthened, prompting her to accept a job with MLU. Kelsey works closely with sponsors and MLU team members to ensure projects and activations are completed in a timely and successful manner.
Greg Fallon, a graduate of Temple University and Philadelphia native, has been working in sports videography since his sophomore year of high school. He developed a passion for ultimate in college and has been able to combine his talents and passions at the MLU. He rose from unpaid intern with the Philadelphia Spinners in 2012 to Post Production Coordinator of the MLU. Greg oversees the production of many MLU games, promos and highlight videos in addition to working on the live productions each week. He continues to play ultimate in the Philadelphia area and coaches the ultimate team at Temple University with Himalaya Mehta of the Spinners.
Lindsay Arnone, originally from New Jersey, moved to Philadelphia in order to attend Arcadia University and receive her Masters Degree in Literature. A 5 year veteran of ultimate, she founded and co-captained Arcadia University's ultimate team, Knightmare. Lindsay has prior experience working at the professional ultimate level and came to the MLU after volunteering her time with the Philadelphia Phoenix as an events coordinator and general manager. Lindsay received her B.A. from Bloomsburg University where she was assistant captain of the Bloomsburg Rum Runners ultimate team.
Statistical Research and Analysis Coordinator
Luke Ryan grew up in New Jersey before moving to Philadelphia to attend Saint Joseph's University, receiving a degree in Business Intelligence. Even though he attended the birthplace of ultimate frisbee, Columbia High School, he didn't play competitively till college. Now Luke oversees the single largest and most comprehensive statistical database the sport of ultimate has ever seen. With his team, Luke is constantly developing new statistics and metrics to move the sport forward.
Partnership Development and PR Associate
Robert “Bert” Catzen is a Baltimore, MD native and alumnus of Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. Although his blood runs thick with purple, orange and Old Bay, he has found a home in the City of Brotherly Love where he shares his passion for ultimate with anyone willing to take some time out of their busy lives and throw the disc around. The runt in a family of four, Bert learned quickly that everything in his life must be earned, and he carried that over throughout his athletic career that includes founding the Calvert Hall Ultimate Frisbee Team, and captaining the SJU ultimate team to their first and only USAU Regionals bid in school history.
Merchandise and Shop Coordinator
Dave Pannepacker, a Philadelphia area native and Eagle Scout, graduated from Temple University with a degree in Marketing. He played ultimate for two years at Drexel University, and spent one of them as tournament director. Now in his seventh year in the ultimate community, Dave works as Shop Coordinator for Major League Ultimate, fulfilling orders and managing inventory. He also writes content for the website, focusing on ultimate outside of the league.
Stastistics and Development Consultant
Tim Brubaker is a recent graduate of La Salle University where he studied Mathematics and Risk Management. Luckily he also picked up the game of ultimate while there and has managed to turn it into not only an amazing hobby, but an amazing career with the MLU. In the office, he works with Luke Ryan to ever enhance the state of statistics in ultimate. More recently he's also worked with Scott Helm in developing the new website.
Social Media Coordinator
Garrett Miley is a recent graduate of Saint Joseph’s University where he studied English and was both the Sports Editor and Editor in Chief of The Hawk, Saint Joseph’s student newspaper. As a journalist, he has had his work published in the Philadelphia Daily News, Baltimore Sun, and Chicago Tribune among others. Garrett first got involved with ultimate in high school when he joined the after school club run by his algebra teacher and played on St. Joe’s Dirty Birds ultimate team in college. A West Chester, Pa. native, Garrett has also captained summer league teams in PADA Chester County.
