Another MLU season is upon us, thus time to begin fantasy trash talking as well as semi-informed Picks and Predictions by the MLU Experts.

Each week, we predict the outcomes of MLU games. We’re not very good at frisbee, but we’ve got that fire for competition. Let us indulge ourselves and pretend this matters!

Greg Fallon | MLU Assistant Production Manager

Prediction record: 25-11

D.C. Current vs. New York Rumble | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 2:00 p.m. ET
Score: 24-20, D.C.

Philadelphia Spinners vs. Boston Whitecaps | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 5:00 p.m. ET
Score: 19-18, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Vancouver Nighthawks | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 6:00 p.m. PT
Score: 22-15, Portland

Vancouver Nighthawks vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, June 28, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 29-22, Seattle

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Billy Sickles (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Mark Burton (Seattle)

“Billy is not sitting next to me again while I make this pick, but the Spinners have the hunger that a team needs to win a big game like this. No playoff berths are on the line, but home field could have a huge impact on the rematch in a few weeks. I think we see a classic battle between two great teams, and I think I’ll be working two more games in Philly this season.”

Luke Ryan | MLU Head Statistician

Prediction record: 21-15

D.C. Current vs. New York Rumble | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 2:00 p.m. ET
Score: 20-19, New York

Philadelphia Spinners vs. Boston Whitecaps | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 5:00 p.m. ET
Score: 21-18, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Vancouver Nighthawks | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 6:00 p.m. PT
Score: 23-17, Portland

Vancouver Nighthawks vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, June 28, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 17-15, Seattle

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Jake Rainwater (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Morgan Hibbert (Vancouver)

“Both teams are out of the playoff hunt. Will we see mixed lines from both teams? I’m still pretty far behind in the overall picks record and I don’t think many people are picking New York… Which is why I’m picking New York.”

Tim Brubaker | MLU Statistician

Prediction record: 24-12

D.C. Current vs. New York Rumble | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 2:00 p.m. ET
Score: 18-16, D.C.

Philadelphia Spinners vs. Boston Whitecaps | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 5:00 p.m. ET
Score: 15-12, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Vancouver Nighthawks | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 6:00 p.m. PT
Score: 21-18, Portland

Vancouver Nighthawks vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, June 28, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 19-16, Seattle

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Nick Hirannet (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Morgan Hibbert (Vancouver)

“There is no chance Vancouver will roll over in this game as they’ll be giving it all they’ve got to tarnish a shinning Stags season. That said, it will be no easy task. The Stags will most notably be down Suppnick, the key cog to their D-line’s scoring ability as well as a handful of other players. On the other hand, the Nighthawks will be down up to 12 people including handlers on both sides of the disc. Look for Hibbert and Creed to lead the offense on a valiant charge against the Stags but fall short against the herd.”

Prediction record: 21-15

D.C. Current vs. New York Rumble | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 2:00 p.m. ET
Score: 20-18, New York

Philadelphia Spinners vs. Boston Whitecaps | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 5:00 p.m. ET
Score: 22-19, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Vancouver Nighthawks | Saturday, June 27, 2015, 6:00 p.m. PT
Score: 21-16, Portland

Vancouver Nighthawks vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, June 28, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 20-18, Vancouver

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Jake Rainwater (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Morgan Hibbert (Vancouver)

“This has not been a successful season for the Vancouver Nighthawks. 2014’s Western Conference Champions have struggled to build consistency this year, and head into a Week 11 double header with no playoff hopes or ability to play spoiler. All that is on the line is pride, and it will be Vancouver’s will to keep fighting that will inspire them to victory on Sunday in their finale against Seattle. Hibbert will get the three goals needed to join the 20-20-10 club. ”

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Tyler Monroe (D.C.)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Gavin McKibben (Seattle)

“One more time, Medford will welcome an opponent in… wait… or will there be another time after this? Will Boston cruise to another win and then win a home game in the playoffs? Could Philly lose this game and then win again in Medford? Could Philly win this game and then lose at home in Philly? Could Boston beat Philly twice in a row after losing to them twice to start the season? If Philly goes 3-0 in the regular season versus Boston, would they be capable of going 4-0 against the Whitecaps? If they tie at the end of the season at 2-2, does that mean the fifth game is optional? Iffy game. I’m sticking with the home squad.”
