Another MLU season is upon us, thus time to begin fantasy trash talking as well as semi-informed Picks and Predictions by the MLU Experts.

Each week, we predict the outcomes of MLU games. We’re not very good at frisbee, but we’ve got that fire for competition. Let us indulge ourselves and pretend this matters!

Greg Fallon | MLU Assistant Production Manager

Prediction record: 15-7

New York Rumble vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, May 30, 2015, 7:00 p.m. ET
Score: 22-17, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, May 30, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 19-18, Portland

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Matt Glazer (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Cody Bjorklund (Portland)

“Philly is on a roll and nothing seems to be going New York’s way. It could be a trap game, but I like the Spinners to roll.”

Luke Ryan | MLU Head Statistician

Prediction record: 14-8

New York Rumble vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, May 30, 2015, 7:00 p.m. ET
Score: 19-18, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, May 30, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 22-20, Portland

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Jake Rainwater (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Eli Friedman (Portland)

“If Portland didn’t lose last week’s game I would have confidently picked this ‘trap game’ in favor of Seattle. Now? The Stags are pissed and Eli Friedman is active for the first time since Week 1… No way Portland doesn’t walk away with this one.”

Tim Brubaker | MLU Statistician

Prediction record: 14-8

New York Rumble vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, May 30, 2015, 7:00 p.m. ET
Score: 22-18, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, May 30, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 19-17, Portland

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Billy Sickles (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Cody Bjorklund (Portland)

“There’s a lot of hype around this game and the Spinners will use it to their advantage. If the Spinners win they’d have to lose out while the Current win out and the Whitecaps lose only to the Current in order to miss the playoffs. Add all of that onto the skill the squad already possesses and they’ll be hard to beat. The final factor is the men the Rumble will be down: Eight players are out this week. The last time these two teams met the Rumble took a strong start into half only to lose it from exhaustion (the bench was also short that game). The Rumble never make it easy on the Spinners, but by the fourth quarter the Spinners should have the clear advantage.”

Prediction record: 16-6

New York Rumble vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, May 30, 2015, 7:00 p.m. ET
Score: 24-16, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, May 30, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 22-20, Portland

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Nick Hirannet (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Timmy Perston (Portland)

“…And they said Seattle was the future of the space city, as expressed in needle-form. Then the word was that Portland was some sort of ¨-ia” and that Latinate place names were cool again. I’ve flown to each, but only flown from Portland to Seattle, not the other way ’round. Never walked around in Portland for long, but walking around in Seattle was for punks. At least near the stadiums. However, that bánh mì was an excellent meal for under five dollars (with a jet black coffee concealing condensed milk, of course). Either way, Stags are built for the rain.”

William Curb | MLU Director of West Coast Digital Media

Prediction record: 16-6

New York Rumble vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, May 30, 2015, 7:00 p.m. ET
Score: 22-19, Philadelphia

Portland Stags vs. Seattle Rainmakers | Sunday, May 30, 2015, 1:00 p.m. PT
Score: 21-17, Portland

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Billy Sickles (Philadelphia)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Peter Woodside (Portland)

“With Mark Burton listed as doubtful for this game it could be rough for Seattle. Portland is coming off their first loss of the season and is looking to get back on track. While it shouldn’t be the same blowout as Week 1, the Rainmakers are going get pummeled this week.”

Paul Des Marais | MLU Director of Content

Prediction record: 17-5

New York Rumble vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, May 30, 2015, 7:00 p.m. ET

Score: 20-19, Seattle

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Michael Hennessy (New York)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Henry Phan (Seattle)

“Can the Rainmakers win four in a row? Will the Stags lose their second-straight road game? This is the game to watch (on Tuesday when it comes out on MLU TV) and should be close throughout. What to do this weekend: Watch the Eastern Conference game on MLU Live, get outside, get pumped…in whatever order makes sense to you.
