Prediction record: 21 – 7

Boston Whitecaps  vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, June 4, 2016, 4:00 p.m. ET
Score: 19-18, Philadelphia

Seattle Rainmakers vs. San Francisco Dogfish | Saturday, June 4, 2016, 3:00 p.m. PT
Score: 22-17, Seattle

Vancouver Nighthawks vs. Portland Stags | Saturday, June 4, 2016, 3:00 p.m. PT
Score: 26-14, Portland

Boston Whitecaps  vs. New York Rumble | Sunday, June 5, 2016, 4:00 p.m. ET
Score: 18-17, New York

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Sean Mott (New York)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Peter Woodside (Portland)

“This has been the closest matchup of the season. Philly has scored one more goal (37-36) in their two games, Boston has completed 0.8% more passes (88.9 – 88.1), and both teams have 54 turnovers. So far what’s given either team the extra push to win seems to be home field advantage and this week that belongs to the Spinners. Himalaya leads the team with 9 points and 3 Blocks against Boston but will be inactive. While that’s not the Spinner’s only missing player, the list is nothing compared to Boston’s. 11 Inactives, 5 Questionables, and a Doubtful is not the blueprint for a double-header weekend. With the advantages stacked up for Philly they’ll win the season series this weekend and be a win away from home field advantage.”

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Tom O’Connor (Philadelphia)

“I was one of the few people to pick against the Spinners when Boston’s injury report had “Too many stars missing”. This time around? I’m not sure Boston can overcome missing more than half of their roster.”

Boston Whitecaps  vs. Philadelphia Spinners | Saturday, June 4, 2016, 4:00 p.m. ET
Score: 21-18, Philadelphia

Seattle Rainmakers vs. San Francisco | Saturday, June 4, 2016, 3:00 p.m. PT

Score: 19-18, Boston

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Piers MacNaughton (Boston)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Brad Houser (Seattle)

“I picked Philly last time they face Boston, citing that they had several big names on their injury report.  That backfired.  This time they are home, and Boston has SO MANY people on their injury report.  Philly wins, locks up the only tie-breaker they will need heading into the playoffs.”

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Piers MacNaughton (Boston)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Robin Breen (Seattle)

“On paper, the Portland Stags versus the Vancouver Nighthawks is a mismatch of extreme proportions. Unfortunately for the Stags, the game isn’t played on paper. Unfortunately for the Nighthawks, it is a mismatch on field as well. As best I can augur, so long as the Stags make it to their home field and remember each other’s scents after a week off, the Nighthawks haven’t a chance.”

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Christian Foster (Boston)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Raphy Hayes (Portland)

“This is Philly’s big chance to secure the Eastern Conference Finals. While a win doesn’t guarentee them home field advantage it is a huge step in the right direction. Boston is on a two game road trip this weekend and is going to have trouble with their short roster. I expect them to have to rely heavily on their stars and Philly to step up in the fourth quarter when Boston is lagging.”

Eastern Conference Star of the Week: Ben Katz (Boston)
Western Conference Star of the Week: Topher Davis (Portland)

“Boston has already clinched their playoff spot after DC lost last weekend, but home field is still up for grabs this weekend. The more pivotal match-up is the day before against Philadelphia, which the Spinners may take on their own field. Win or lose on Saturday, Boston must win on Sunday to keep the pressure on Philadelphia. New York has definitely improved over the course of the year, but has historically struggled against Boston, and will continue to do so with the Whitecaps playing a high stakes game on their own end.”

“Seattle is rolling and the Dogfish have been spinning their wheels since Week 1. I think Brad Houser has another big game this week for the Rainmakers. He continues to be a big part of what they do on offense and his size will give San Francisco defenders fits.”
