Plays of the Week: Week 2 Paul Des Marais April 30, 2015 MLUPhoto by Rodney Chen – UltiPhotos.comFor the 2015 season, four players each week are awarded the US Coachways Offensive Play of the Week, the Innova Pulsar Throw of the Week, the Friction Gloves Catch of the Week and the Defensive Play of the Week.US Coachways Offensive Play of the Week Lloyd Blake & Peter Prial | D.C. CurrentSometimes the best plays aren’t flashy; instead, they feature fundamental skills that translate across all team sports. The give-and-go relies on excellent communication, field awareness and clever cutting. Blake and Prial make it look easy on this prime example of one of the most satisfying offensive moves in sports. Innova Pulsar Throw of the Week Dan Suppnick | Portland StagsWhile Suppnick looks off-balanced, he seems to know exactly where his disc is going. Maybe he was imagining his defenders as dense shrubs and his receiver as the disc golf basket. Friction Gloves Catch of the Week Aaron Loach | Vancouver NighthawksKirk Savage releases a soft scoober to a diving Aaron Loach for the two-handed layout grab. Not the most conventional goal line play, but it sure is entertaining. Defensive Play of the Week Jibran Mieser | New York RumbleEven though the Rumble lost big in their first game of the season, second-year player Jibran Mieser emerged as the player of the game with six blocks while defending one of the toughest matchups in the league, Jeff Graham. In this play, Mieser poaches just far enough away to give himself the option of covering the end zone or going for the layout block.
