VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Here’s a quick recap of the Seattle Rainmakers’ 26-18 win over the Vancouver Nighthawks at Thunderbird Stadium.

How it Happened: The Rainmakers capitalized on the Nighthawks’ mistakes from the very beginning. Seattle slowly won the game by making very few errors and taking advantage of Vancouver’s drops. The Nighthawks tried to come back in the third and fourth quarter but were just not able to catch up.

Turning Point: In the second quarter, the Nighthawks really struggled to keep up with Seattle’s defense. Seattle ended the first quarter with a four-point lead, 7-3, and finished the second quarter with an eight-point lead, 16-8.

Player of the game: Morgan Hibbert of the Vancouver Nighthawks led the score sheet with the most points as well as the most defensive plays. Hibbert had seven points including goals and assists as well as three blocks.

Stat of the Game: 12. The number of Seattle players who had at least one defensive play.

Quotable: “We needed a lot of things based on how we played today,” said Nighthawks Head Coach Andrew Lugsdin. “We came out flat, and it was quite disappointing; we had lots of people open but there were a lot of execution errors, drops and also some bad throws.”

What’s next: The Vancouver Nighthawks will host the Seattle Rainmakers again in two weeks, on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at 6:00 pm.
