With the 2016 MLU season rapidly approaching, teams have begun to fill their rosters, meaning it’s time once again for The Dotted Line, a periodic look at signings around the league.
The Whitecaps continued to build their roster in February, announcing the return of Jon Hirschberger, who sat out 2015 with an injury and Terry Roth, the backflipping veteran. The champs also announced the signing of three high level players new to the league in Jared Innselmann, Jay Clark and Sandy Hartwiger.
San Francisco Dogfish
The Dogfish released a flurry of announcements in late February following the naming of Jason Seidler as the team’s new Head Coach. Andrew Riggs, Liam Rosen, Daniel Naruo, Nate Young and Nick Weiss were the first batch of signed players, followed by the return of Thomas Pineda and James Sheridan, as well as the signing of rookies Colby Chuck and Jason Edelman. More signings are expected in the next few days.
Portland continued to announce returning veterans during February. Even as the team held their tryouts, the Stags re-signed Aaron Adamson, Grant Cole and Matt Melius from the 2015 roster.
The Nighthawks released the names of their first two signed players in February, welcoming Erik Hunter back to the team after two seasons away and announcing the signing of rookie Graeme Barber to the 2016 team. Tryouts for the Nighthawks were also announced to be taking place starting March 5.
