With the 2017 MLU Season rapidly approaching, teams have begun to fill their coaching staffs and rosters, meaning it’s time once again for The Dotted Line, a periodic look at signings around the league.

With the MLU Offseason just underway, several teams have already begun to sign players and coaches for the upcoming 2017 MLU Season. With tryouts and pre-season activities right around the corner, teams look to lock up returning talent and get their coaching staffs in order. Stay tuned for future installments of The Dotted Line, as more contracts are announced.

New York Rumble

The New York Rumble announced their 2017 Coaching Staff. Anthony Nuñez returns for his fourth season as the team’s Head Coach, his fifth overall with the organization. Joining Nuñez in 2017 as Assistant Coaches are Dave Hsiung and former Rumble player Steve Willis

Philadelphia Spinners

The Philadelphia Spinners have been very active this offseason, preparing to defend their MLU Championship title in 2017. Last month, the Spinners announced that Philadelphia Patrol coach Charlie Hoppes had been named Head Coach of the Spinners for 2017. Hoppes was quick to re-sign a core of players from the 2016 roster, announcing the return of veterans Dave Baer, Gabe Colton, Himalaya Mehta and Billy Sickles, followed shortly by Brice Dunn, Ethan Fortin, Mike Arcata, Vince Reydams and Nick Patel

Washington D.C. Current

The Washington D.C. Current got off to an early start this offseason, announcing the return of their entire coaching staff from 2016. Head Coach Will Smolinski will once again be joined on the sideline by Sam McClellan and Jacob Nuxoll in 2017. With Keven Moldenhauer, Zach Norrbom and Delrico Johnson returning for the second year of their multi-year deals signed in 2016, the Current announced that Andrew Ferraro, Kyle Khalifa, Freddie Tsai, Eric ‘Astro’ Miner, Cam Barnhardt, and Mikey Moses had all been re-signed for 2017 as well.
